The HBCU & HIGH SCHOOL DREAM CLASSIC is a premier basketball showcase dedicated to excellence, education, and empowerment. Held during Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, January 15–19, 2026, this event honors Dr. King’s legacy by bringing together elite HBCU and HIGH SCHOOL Basketball Programs for a transformative experience that extends beyond the court.
Our mission is to inspire student-athletes, elevate HIGH SCHOOL awareness, and create pathways for future success through competition, mentorship, and scholarship opportunities. By uniting rising stars with collegiate athletes, alumni, and community leaders, we foster a culture of EXCELLENCE, LEADERSHIP, and SOCIAL IMPACT.

The Dream Classic unites HBCUs and High Schools. It is geared towards college and high school student-athletes. It is an annual opportunity to compete in basketball, in the most visited city in the world, at one event on a historic weekend. The classic offers HBCUs from across the country an opportunity to interact with national rising talent. The classic also exposes high school student-athletes to HBCU academics and HBCU exclusive basketball sports programs.
